Singaporean authorities will step up F&B checks for breaching of COVID-19 measures, as the festive season approaches.

From this Saturday, there will be more checks and inspections on F&B outlets to ensure compliance with safe management measures.

This is to make sure that no outlet breaches measures, ahead of the festive Christmas season. The Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) announced this in a statement on Friday (Dec 18).

“While we recognise that many may wish to meet up with family and friends during the festive period or visit popular areas such as Orchard Road, food and beverage outlets and members of the public must continue to take safe management measures seriously, as dining out is an activity that involves considerable risks,” said MSE.

Enforcement such fines, and closures may be carried out if any breaches are found.

The current limit of 5 people will still be enforced, until Phase 3 arrives on Dec 28.
